Three-aisled gothic hall church, constructed between 1275 and 1307. Contains parts of the Ottonian basilica completed between approximately 1000 and 1050, with octagonal tower, westwork, atrium and eastern crypt. One of Europe’s most important church treasures can be found here. Precious religious artefacts from all epochs, from the early Middle Ages to the Rococo, including the Golden Madonna from the 10th century, the world’s oldest free-standing sculpture of the Madonna.
