description
Unpretentious, classic and modern are the characteristics of London architect David Chipperfield's new building that extends the old part of the Museum Folkwang since 2010. With its facade entirely made of recycled glass the Folkwang Museum is among Germany’s most important art museums. It owes its reputation to its outstanding collections of 19th-century German and French painting and sculpture, along with various works from 20th-century art movements, post-1945 art, photography and graphic art. Free admission to the permanent exhibition.
